*Once upon a time, I was going to write a rant about how much I hated 'zines and the self-publishing universe. My argument was that the mainstream publishing world has a vetting system to make sure the content published is well written, researched, polished, and professional. The whole 'zine world and blogging movement felt like an obese goth girl who rejected the world before it could reject her. Well, corporate consolidation and the overall dumbing down of media has beaten me into submission and I include 'zines as a valid form of media. But just as inside every nasty goth chick isn't necessarily a Suicide Girl waiting to get out, not all 'zines are worth reading.
